Here is my background and approach.

My ideal clients are those seeking professional Christian counseling services to help them as individuals or as a couple. These are people who desire to grow personally and spiritually, gain self-understanding, and experience God's healing grace in their life or marriage. It is a great privilege to be invited by my clients to walk with them in these ways.

I am not a clinician or a state-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am an experienced and qualified professional Christian counselor who provides counseling ministry, support, and a private and welcoming environment in which to meet. Typically, my clients are referred to me by their church leaders, other clients, or because of my reputation. I am also sought out by pastors and other Christian leaders due to my own background in the unique challenges and opportunities of a ministry lifestyle.

I believe professional Christian Counseling ministry compliments, but does not replace, church-based pastoral care, clinical therapy, or other helpful sources of growth and grace. This is why I am happy to refer clients to other professionals or resources as indicated. 

I hold a Bachelors in Theology and Masters in Pastoral Counseling (MPC) and have many years experience as a counseling professional, communicator, and retreat leader.

I am the author of several books, including How Healed Do You Want to Be? and a collection of essays titled Gracelets: Thoughts, Reflections, and Teaching on Spiritual and Personal Growth.

Personal

I have been married to Robin, a lifelong nurse and nursing educator, for over forty-five years. We have four adult children, two grandsons, and triplet granddaughters.

I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
